Jonathan Greenblatt is the co-founder of Ethos™ Water and former Vice-President of Global Consumer Products at Starbucks Coffee Company and a former member of the board of the Starbucks Foundation. Greenblatt worked in Little Rock, Arkansas on Governor Bill Clinton's first successful presidential campaign in 1992 and spent more than five years in the Clinton Administration where he served in the White House and US Department of Commerce.
Jonathan Greenblatt and Peter Thum founded Ethos™ Water in 2002 to help children around the world get clean water by launching a brand of bottled water in the US whose profits directly would support water programs in developing countries. The two entrepreneurs grew the business from a small start-up to a regional company with deep presence across the Western US. Today, Ethos™ Water is sold in more than 5,000 Starbucks locations across the US and has achieved record performance for the company in bottled water sales. Equally importantly, Ethos is projected to donate at least US $10 million through 2010 to support humanitarian water programs around the world.
Jonathan currently serves as a senior advisor to the United Nations Foundation where he has assisted with the creation and launch of the Global Water Challenge, a coalition of Fortune 500 businesses, foundations and non-governmental organizations developing a global action plan to alleviate the world water crisis. He also serves as Senior Advisor to the X-PRIZE Foundation, leading the design of a $10 million prize competition focused on breaking the cycle of global poverty.
