Kimberly Brooks is a new media pioneer, artist and activist. In 1996, she launched Lightray Productions, a new media production company which has been defining brands, and creating award-winning Internet sites and campaigns specializing in environmentally-conscious people, companies, non-profits and causes including: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr, Laurie David, Stop Global Warming and among others. Lightray has also created many large-scale technology designs and applications for clients such as Warner Music, AOL the LAPD. She has been hailed as an “Interactive Visionary,” been featured in numerous publications including the LA Times, Hollywood Variety, Hartford Courant, Wired, Vogue, Fortune, Oxygen, Vogue, and Oprah. Her work has received wide exposure and acclaim, been bundled with Apple Computers worldwide and been featured in a variety of publications. Also a juried artist, Brooks works have been selected for competitive exhibitions juried by curators from MOMA and The Whitney Museum of American Art among others. Brooks teaches “The Art of the Internet” at the Otis College of Art and Design to help people and companies leverage technology to take advantage of the world wide web.
